The Time of the Wolf is rooted in Kalevala tradition and storytelling, yet it resonates just as powerfully with both Finnish and international audiences. It tells a compelling story of a young woman’s missteps and their cost — but also of strength and hope.
Originally composed for a vocal ensemble, this 45-minute work has toured the world with Philomela for over 25 years.
Combining music and movement, The Time of the Wolf is a unique, immersive performance that unfolds around the audience — a richly woven narrative tapestry that lifts listeners out of everyday life while offering reflection that speaks to the present. It’s a fairy tale — but it’s true.
The piece is composed by Tellu Turkka and directed for Philomela by Päivi Järvinen.
Price starting from €2000.
